Food Sensitivity Testing

We have a new resource to help you achieve Optimal Health at Scottsdale Skin and Holistic Health, The ALCAT test. The ALCAT test can successfully identify a wide variety of conditions that result from food and chemical intolerance. The ALCAT Test has been proven to be accurate in identifying the relevant foods and substances associated with the many types of chronic inflammatory and metabolic disorders.

Why have this testing?
A tremendous amount of health problems have been linked to food sensitivity and chronic inflammation - common everyday problems like migraines, aching joints, fatigue, gastrointestinal, disorders, eczema, hyperactivity/ADD, asthma and even obesity The ALCAT Test will identify which foods and chemicals are triggering each individual's problems and currently tests for over 300 foods, food additives, food colorings, environmental chemicals and even molds

The ALCAT has been proven to be able to identify those food items that trigger NON-ALLERGIC mechanisms to activate and induce the release of inflammatory mediators common in many chronic conditions where the symptom onset is not immediate. Not all food is digested and small undigested particles of foods evade complete digestion & are absorbed into the body through various mechanisms. These particles can then initiate an inflammatory will releasing chemical mediators that will affect target organs that may result in symptom manifestation typical in chronic conditions such as obesity, gastrointestinal conditions, skin conditions, migraines, ADHD, Chronic fatigue and more.

The ALCAT Test results are based on the measurement of leukocyte cellular reactivity often times false positives occur when measuring only the IgG antibody (the standard blood test) these false positives are therefore eliminated. Additional reactions may be found by evaluating the final common pathway of all pathogenic mechanisms. Results from this testing are more accurate and also provides a realistic diet for you to follow that allows for maximum relief of symptoms.

The ALCAT test is convenient (one blood sample can be used to assay over 300 foods and substances) and cost-effective. What's most important is that it works, thus taking the guess work out of therapeutic dietary planning. The test results include a customized rotation diet plan and a helpful “foods to avoid” list when patients test positive for food intolerances.

The blood draws can be done in the office or a in the comfort of your own home. Prices range is $1150-$300 depending on how extensive the test you choose is.
