Sensitive Skin

There are extremely few women who do not claim to have sensitive skin.  There really is no clear definition of what sensitive skin is, however, several article have been written on the subject.  The irony of the research is that sensitive skin is not born, it is made.   Except for those conditions associated with immune problems such as atopic dermatitis and a few others, sensitive skin results from just three factors:  environmental insult, too much soap, and too many cosmetics!!!
Consider for a moment that soap dehydrates skin, pulling out lipids, which then allow many things to pass that would otherwise be blocked by the protective lipid layer.  Next, consider this…the average cosmetic product contains 12-25 ingredients, all of which are more or less active chemicals…not FDA regulated…not regulated period.  If you use just four products a day i.e. foundation, blush, lipstick, mascara…you are applying as many as 48-100 chemicals on your skin.  No one alive can possibly know what effect these chemicals will have on skin, either individually or combined.

This is another reason to consider permanent make-up other than  the convenience and decreased daily trauma to skin.
